Welcome Apple Podcast

At V-TIP.COM we’re constantly adding new features.

Our newest feature will allow members to create podcasts.

What are podcasts?  Well, according to wikipedia:

 

A podcast or generically netcast, is an episodic series of digital audio or video files which a user can download in order to listen to. It is often available for subscription, so that new episodes are automatically downloaded via web syndication to the user’s own local computer, mobile application, or portable media player.[1]

The word was originally suggested by Ben Hammersley as a portmanteau of “iPod” (a brand of media player) and “broadcast“.[2][3]

 

We view podcasts are audio web series and are treated like any other playlist on the site.

So for members, you can now convert any audio playlist in your account into a podcast using the new generate rss feed function.

Simply click the preferences switch in your audio playlist and click the function generate an rss feed.

You should be aware, Apple has some strict requirements including specific categories (and sometimes subcategories) and image requirements that we may not have.

In addition, creating a feed does not guarantee approval of a podcast.

Your show will need to be approved by Apple to be found on apple podcast.

V-TIP now supports permalink edits and short codes

Want to let your friends know about those pictures you uploaded to V-TIP?  Saw a laugh out lout funny video that your sister would love to see?  You need as much space in that text message as possible.

Now V-TIP.COM has short codes.  With short codes, you only require the ten characters in our website name and three other digits.  That’s even shorter than bitly the url shortener!! Plus, you can now edit your permalinks in case the automatically generated ones are not to your liking.

It just keeps getting better and better with V-TIP.COM.

V-TIP now has document transcoding

 

V-TIP.COM now has document transcoding.   With document transcoding  members can share text documents written in the most popular formats, word, txt, odt or pdf.  Upload your files the same way you would upload a video or a picture and V-TIP will convert them to the most common format on the web — pdf.

Post uploads to your profile page and notify

Continuing our development of V-TIP.COM, we have added two new features,

First, you can now post directly to your profile page after upload. On step 4 of upload click “post to profile page”, then select public or private post. Click done. Now find your playlist or album on your profile page.

Second, you can now upload and notify. At Step 4, you can send out notifications to friends to let them know those pictures or that video you’ve been talking about is ready to be seen.

We are proud to announce microdata and notifications on V-TIP

V-TIP continues to innovate and grow in spite of tough challenges with funding. But VTIP Entertainment, LLC continues to plug along with new functions and features that will help members and visitors alike have a better experience on V-TIP.COM.

 

  • Notify by email – The notification section of Mail and Messages is now functional.  Receive emails when logged off so you do not miss a single message from friends, friend request, notifications when uploads and transcodes are completed and new posts are made to your profile page or replies made to comments you posted.
  • Microdata and custom microdata tool – All uploads on V-TIP.COM will now contain microdata. With microdata public albums and playlists have structured data markup embedded in the html of every page. This data is what Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines look for when trying to find content on the web. If you’re an artist trying to get your work found, you will also have access to our custom microdata tool. Learn about microdata and rich snippets on Google Webmaster Tool or at schema.org. Test the url to your web page by going to Google’s testing page. If you can master the tool, you can customize your content for optimal seo.

Welcome to the New V-TIP.COM

Happy 2015.  This new year brings great changes.  While our mission is not complete, the New V-TIP.COM is live.  The new design does away with the old and in with the new in a big way.

 

We are now using the most modern of technologies on every page. Big sliders, parallax boxes and animations rendered not by flash but by HTML5.   And for the first time ever, the site is fully viewable on all major mobile devices.  We have a new video player streaming HD (and soon) SD content as well as two new audio/music players that will stream to both desktop, tablets and mobile phones.

 

Our  Wordpress blog already made it possible to post and view posts on your home computer.  But with the free wordpress app on android or iOS devices members can easily blog while they are on the go.

 

And I can’t want to show members what the insides look like.  Very soon we will have new log in capabilities which will give users new ways to communicate with each other as well as a new uploader, media management, friends list, mail center, message center and new profile pages for the world to see.

 

So sit back, look around and enjoy the New V-TIP.COM.
