The Shop: The Plan –   When Ashley discovers her poetry blog was hacked by Owen, she demands he stay as far away from her as possible.  Meanwhile, Taylor’s father’s plan to avoid bankruptcy rests on his daughter’s shoulders.  Taylor’s only hope is to somehow convince Raoul to help without revealing her father’s broke.  Owen rethinks his agreement with Perry.

 

 

The Shop is a comedic web series about Owen and his father Perry Ryan who own a small coffee shop in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn.  Working with Owen is best friend and financially strapped Terrance,  hopelessly self centered primadonna Taylor,  angry and complicated Cuban-American Raoul and Owen’s tough as nails ex girlfriend Ashley.

About the cast:

 

Matthew Connelly as Owen Ryan:Matthew was born and raised in Brooklyn.  During college, he graduated with honors with a BBA in Economics and a minor in Theater from the Macaulay Honors College.  During his off-time in college, he studied at the Sedgwick Russell acting studio as well as improv comedy at the UBC Theater.  In addition to pursuing acting, he also is a co-founder of www.Knearn.com, an online community for students and mentors.

Mila Milosevic as Taylor Chandler: Mila Milosevic is an actress and singer born in Serbia. She has lived and studied in Serbia, Hungary and United States. She is now based in New York City as a full time student. Mila has been training her voice professionally for almost 4 years in Hungary and the US, singing classical, pop, rock music, as well as musical theater. Mila is proficient in playing the flute. She also speaks Serbian, Hungarian and English fluently, and is learning Italian and Spanish. Mila took acting lessons at the MN Acting Studio with Matt Newton, one of the most highly sought after film and tv acting coaches in New York City. Her most recent acting project was her portrayal of Taylor Chandler in the web series called  “The Shop”. Her upcoming projects include a spec commercial and another web series.  She is currently working on her very own web series and recording a cover album.

Nicholas Bonanno as Raoul Perez: Nick Bonanno was born and raised on the island of Malta. At the age of 15 he left for England and studied Theatre Studies. During that time he auditioned and was accepted to join the National Youth Theatre in London. In 2013 he moved to New York City and enrolled in the conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio where he is presently studying.

Kate Szekely as Ashley Patterson:  Kate Szekely, a Detroit-native, is a New York City based actress. She attained her BFA in Theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts along with the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Past credits include “Bellini and the Sultan” in the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival, “Dangerous Items” with the Turkish American Rep (TARTE), as well as numerous local independent and student shorts.
